Signing up with a brand new MLM company can be an alluring option for both brand new and veteran network marketers. We've all heard amazing stories of people who "got in early" with well-known and established companies. Those stories inevitably start with, "And they got in at the beginning..." and end with, "...and now they're mega-millionares."

Without doubt, the stories of network marketing stand-outs who got into Direct selling organizations like NuSkin, Amway, Herbalife, and Shaklee in the beginning and who are now multi-millionaires encourage and motivate those just starting in the industry. However is getting in with a start-up all it's cracked up to be?

The Statistics Are Not In Your Favor With New MLM Companies

Let's examine at the industry figures, shall we? Many multi level marketing specialists estimate that 9 out of 10 new multi level marketing companies go bankrupt within the first two years. As authority and long-time industry trainer Rod Nichols states in his book, Successful Network Marketing for the 21st Century:

"This means that if you choose a company that is under two years old, you only have a ten percent chance of success."

When you evaluate the possibility of joining a new MLM company from that perspective, it unquestionably makes it much less alluring, doesn't it? But, there are also other disadvantages involved with joining new companies. Let's consider a few to find out if joining a brand new company is really worth the dangers.

Pre-Launch MLM Companies Frequently End Up With Giant Troubles

One more seemingly appealing path to riches in network marketing is to join a company that is in pre-launch. "Pre-launch" is when a new company lets prospective reps pay to join before they are even selling their products or services. As Mr. Nichols says in his book, they do this to acquire money for their formal launch.

The difficulty with this is it brings to light the reality that the company is under-capitalized to begin with. And, chances are that they will run out of cash flow at the most inopportune times; for example, when they are going through their initial substantial growth spurt and have to pay out substantial commission checks to distributors.

Peculiar Things Happen to Downlines in Pre-Launch...

Furthermore, strange things can occur with downlines during pre-launch. I have an associate who got in during pre-launch with a certain new company that shall remain nameless. She put forth a tremendous effort to build up a downline prior to launch, despite the fact that all her sign-ups were only on paper.

As it turns out, she hooked a "big fish" by attracting a substantially successful and experienced network marketer into her downline. This individual had a track record of growing large downlines, so my acquaintance was sure she would be set when the company launched.

Sadly, in order to make the opportunity more appealing to Mr. Big Fish, her upline leader decided to place him quite a few levels over my friend in the organization. To say the least, my colleague was devastated, and switched over to another new MLM which has since gone out of business. And to my knowledge, she has almost certainly left the industry, possibly for good.

So Is It Worth The Risk?

Is it really worth it to join a new MLM company? For me, the response is a certain "no". My advice is to examine any new multi level marketing company methodically before joining. Examine at their management, ask about their financial backing, scrutinize the products, and then weigh the risks carefully. There's no sense playing the new network marketing company lottery, unless you are completely sure you are holding the winning ticket.

I remember playing a demo of a game awhile back. It was one of those small games from Big Fish Games or Reflexive Arcade.

The was of Fashion theme & in the game you worked as a fashion magazine or maybe a Fashion photographer maybe. You would get different assignments like Prom, Beach & stuff like that.

You would pick the model, the clothes & the background. You would take the photos too I think.

Does anyone know the name of this game? Or link me to it? Thanks.
this is not an online game, you would download it, get a trial & then have to pay for it.

Not sure, because I haven't played all those games. Is it one of these?

I just did a search for fashion and a whole bunch of games came up. This is from Game Socks which is also Reflexive. I don't think it's possible to search Bigfish.

 QUESTION:
how big does this fish grow?
i got a fish it looks like a cat fish but with shorter whiskers
here is a pic of what it looks like
http://nis.gsmfc.org/photo/Hypostomus_plecostomus2.jpg
only that mine is all black.
what do they eat and how big do they grow?
i got it from my friend because she did not like it so she was going to move it to a small bowl and wait till it died i know mean.

 ANSWER:
I see the hypostomus pl on the link, and don't need to look at the photo to tell you it's a "common" pleco that has the potential to grow 18+ inches. Not for your average smaller tanks-definitely nothing under 55 gallons, and that's pushing it. Well, good for you for rescuing it from your lovely friend that was going to let it die....how cruel!

Feed it algae wafers, pieces of lettuce(romaine, green leaf, spinach) on a veggie clip, pieces of cucumber and zucchini, shrimp pellets. Don't rely on algae in the tank for feeding it, yes they do eat the algae, but will usually do so within a day....so they do need to be fed regularly. And, like mentioned, if you don't have a large enough tank, start looking for a pet store that will take it for you, or someone who does have a large enough tank. Good luck!

How often do you find yourself stuck in the house on them cold winter days, suffering from the winter blues? I bet you said quite often, if you did then your answer is like that of most people during the winter months. I want you to stop right now and think about what you just read, if you do find yourself stuck in the house during the winter with nothing to do, you should consider yourself very lucky. Most people are always complaining that they don't have enough time in the day to get things done. So, according to a lot of folks, if you have nothing to do in the winter because your stuck inside, you are indeed a very lucky person.

Now, if this is true and you find yourself in the winter with nothing to do, and you need an idea to help shake the winter blues, why not take up a great hobby like making bird houses for Blue Jays. Making bird houses is not only easy it's also fun, and if you don't want to keep and use the bird houses for yourself, you can give them away as gifts or even make some extra money selling them at craft shows, yard sales or online.

The design for a Blue Jay bird house can be as detailed as your imagination, or as simple as a shoebox shape made out of wood, and turned to hang or stand on end. There are just a few things you will need to make Blue Jay bird houses; wood, a good weather resistant wood works fine in a size of around 3/4 inch thick. Some people use plywood that's been treated for outdoors use, while others stay away from treated lumber, saying the chemicals can harm the birds, I have made bird houses from treated plywood for years, and have never seen any harmful effects done to the birds that make their homes in them, the choice of wood is up to you.

You will also need a nice saw to cut the wood with, either a power saw or a good wood cutting hand saw works fine, a vise to hold your wood securely while cutting it, ruler or tape measure to measure your wood pieces, and either your choice of nails, screws or wood glue to secure the pieces of wood together, you will also need either a jigsaw or a hole saw attachment for a drill, to make the entrance hole for the Blue Jays.

Cut out and assemble your Blue Jay bird house like you are making a narrow shoebox, it should have 4 sides, and a top and bottom, some people make the roof slanted so the rain will easily fall off, while some folks just leave the roofs flat and use a waterproof cover or coating to repel the elements, again the choice is yours on how elaborate you want to make the Blue Jay bird houses. The one thing you should add are a few small holes in the bottom for more ventilation and to allow any rain that enters the entrance hole from a blowing storm, or melting snow, to drain properly. The average size most designers cut the entrance hole depends on the type of Blue Jays in their region, you want a hole that's just big enough for an adult Blue Jay to enter, and yet stops larger aggressive intruders. Again, you can search the internet for a little more information on the entrance hole sizes.

Once you have your Blue Jay house done, you can fasten a wire hanger onto it, or create a pole type hanger, the choice is up to you. You can paint the bird house in any color or style you want. Making Blue Jay bird houses is not just a great hobby for fun and possibly earning some extra money, it's also a great way to help shake the winter blues.

There is a website that describes numerous activities and other methods to help eliminate the Winter Blues, this website is called: Winter Activities - and it may be found at this url: http://www.winter-activities.com

 QUESTION:
How does everyone feel about Lucky Craft lures?
I personally love them, especially the 'Live series'. I've had alot more luck fishing with them, than with any other brand, especially while fishing for Tiger Musky. The only thing I don't like about them is the price. I'm just wondering if anyone else swears by them? Or if I've just gotten really lucky while using them.

 ANSWER:
Lucky Craft lures are nice, but I can't afford them. I went to Bass Pro Shops recently and was actually considering the Real California One-Thirty Premium swimbait. But thirty-one dollars for a dink-of-a-swimbait is a little much to me and not really worth the price.

If I'm going to spend almost fifty bucks on a swimbait, I'd rather spend it on one that's going to be more than a mouthful for a bass. Like the Real California Two-Hundred Supreme. I mean fifty-one dollars is still a little high for a bait that isn't even a full eight inches.

All three of the (better looking) Real California Series do look good though and I wouldn't doubt that they do catch fish. But price wise to me is just... how can I put it? Not enough lure for the prices.

 QUESTION:
on a more serious note~lucky craft lures?
i just bought a lucky craft lure from gander mtn. anybody use or hear about this lure? the salesman made a good pitch. said it was half off from(.99). and everybody uses them

Post. Script., (these lures were under lock and key!

 ANSWER:
Lucky craft makes several and all are expensive. I don't own any but I hear they work really well.

 QUESTION:
Why are lucky craft lures so expensive? Anything special?

 ANSWER:
big canoe,

When I run into lures that are high in price, I too get curious about its nature. But remember, confidence is the biggest asset you can bring regardless of the lures collected in your tackle.

Here's some "For-Instances":
Upnorth Mepps spinners look so basic with the black and yellow-dotted spinner. But it will catch the crap out of pike and muskies.

In Saltwater, there are certain lures that can catch Spanish Mackeral, like the Rapala XRap and some type of expensive Sidewinder. But an inexpensive Saltstriker is just as deadly.

go ahead and purchase on of the lucky craft. Fish it like you "know" it will catch something. Once you've exhausted the honest effort, then you can decide if the price is a wash.

Best of luck!

 QUESTION:
What size lucky craft sammy would i need for small bass?
need a sammy lure for around 2 pounders should i get the 85 or 65?

 ANSWER:
I thought you didn't know how to walk-the-dog? A Sammy is a walk-the-dog-type lure and according to one of your questions, you say you don't know how.

Whatever. I don't understand WHY you want to specifically target 2 pound fish. That's ridiculous. But to answer your question, 65- or 85-size Sams won't matter. They're both small and will probably getcha a dink or two. You might want to try the bigger 100- or 115-sizes. Better yet, a full size 5" Zara Spook.

I've gotten bass between 1 1/2 and 10 pounds on a 5" Spook. Not to mention a 17" 2 pounder on a 7" Magnum Spook.

 QUESTION:
Lucky craft LV 100 shad?
I got this lucky craft LV 100 shad. I looked it up in stores and everyone is selling them for 15-20 bucks I got one for about 2.00. are these puppies any good? I know lipless cranks work well for bass. I'm just not sure if this specific brand is a good brand...

So does this specific model have good action? if so does the brand have a good streak at good reveiws and lures (I cant seem to find any reveiws). the only thing I can find is this specific model is supposed to go to 3 ft in depth (pretty shallow actually). and it is semi light permiable (so I can see the color but if held to strong light I can see some balls inside and when I shake it it sounds like a rattle) indicating it's a rattling lipless crank... I just dont know if the action is any good

The color is white with a yellow strak horizontally down the middle through the longer side of the lure (basically a fishes position when swimming) so uh yeah thats all I can think to describe it. 2 hooks and some black kind of pop out eyes (not sure if they are glass) I found some item specifics on a ebay local listing

Length: 2-1-2" (65mm)
Weight: 7/16oz (12.5g)
Class: Sinking
Belly: #6
Hook Tail: #6
Line: 8-12 lbs

For professional fishermen and weekenders alike, the LV series will allow fast coverage of water especially when fish are difficult to locate. The lure can be cast long distance and retrieved at depths of 1-3 feet (LV-100) and 12-15 feet (LV-500). The LV series are equipped with brass and glass rattles that expose bass to a unique sound unlike other rattling lures. The natural shape coupled with the tight vibrating wobble action makes this 3-inch, 3/4 oz. bait a must for your tackle box.

I cant format the picture for it to appear here so I hope the description is enough

Thanks!
sorry I meant streak...

 ANSWER:
Hey buddy those dont look too bad I would definety get them for 2$ you should get roboworms in oxblood and red flake and another pack in morning dawn both 6" fish them REALLY slow at castaic or if you have a boat pyramid and any other pond use the drop shot or Texas rig and at a price like that I think it has the right wobble and everything hoped I helped buddy can't think of anything else to say

And bro what do you catch at balboa with spinnerbaits? Bluegill? I've never used anything artificial there and what size and color spinnerbait do you use there thanks bro

When to debone a fish can depend on your preference. You can either debone a fish before or after cooking it. As for myself, I've found it easier to debone a fish after it has been cooked, but then again, I usually find it more enjoyable to eat a fillet that has been deboned before being cooked. Like I said, it's up to your personal tastes whether you're going to debone your fish after or before cooking it.

You do have to clean your fish thoroughly, inside and out, before deboning it. After it has been gutted and rinsed thoroughly, lay the fish on its side and cut straight down, just behind the gills, until the knife reaches the backbone. Make sure that the knife is positioned flat against the backbone, parallel to the surface, with the sharp edge facing the tail. Then cut along the fish, following the backbone all the way down to the tail. Turn the fish over and repeat on the other side.

After the backbone has been removed, the ribs and pin bones are next. You can easily remove the rib bones by slicing between the bones and the fillet. The pin bones can be removed by using a pair of needle-nosed pliers or tweezers to pull them out. Some pin bones are so small that they cannot be easily seen, so you have to feel around for them with your fingers.

Depending on your cooking style or preference, you can either skin your fish next or wait until it is cooked. If you're grilling the fish, then I wouldn't recommend skinning it after it's cooked, because that removes the seared flavor from the grill. With that said, it's usually easier to remove the skin after a fish has been cooked. To remove the skin of a cooked fish, you can grab the skin at the tail with a pair of tongs and pull it away. It's better to do this while the fish is still very hot; that's why I recommend using a pair of tongs. If the fish is hot, the skin will just easily peel away, almost like sliding off the meat of the fish.

If you want to skin a fish before cooking it, place the fillet on a flat surface, with the skin side face down. Now cut through the fillet at the tail end, until the knife touches the skin. Don't cut all the way through the skin. Rotate the knife so that the blade is lying flat and parallel to the cutting surface, with the sharp edge facing the head of the fish. Use a gentle sawing motion to slide and cut between the skin and the meat. Remember to keep the skin pulled tightly, and the edge of the knife must also be angled slightly downward, away from the fillet.

Use sharp knives when cleaning, deboning, and skinning your fish. Avoid serrated blades also. Dull edges, as well as serrated ones, have an annoying tendency to tear through the meat of the fish, not slice through it. The same goes with an electric knife; using it will just shred the fillet. Furthermore, if you're skinning an uncooked fish and the skin is slippery, just sprinkle a little coarse salt on your fingers and on the cutting surface itself to prevent the fish from slipping and sliding.

 QUESTION:
i need a good pliers tool that will NOT rust for fishing, what's a good brand?
yeah so i need one of those 'multi-tool' pocket knife thing that has pliers on it. those ones for fishing/camping but all those sh1t quality ones promise stainless steel never had a chance against the MIGHT of the Saltwater. so im just wondering if there any good brand that makes really good pocket knife/pliers that will NOT rust from saltwater even the screws, hinges/joints!

 ANSWER:
leatherman. Gerbers have all the bells and whistles these days and are cheap, but you can't beat a leatherman. Leathermans are more expensive but worth it. I've had a cheap black leatherman for years without a spot of rust. I don't know if its the black coating or what, but it is going strong after lots of abuse.

 QUESTION:
fishng tackle setup questions?
Well for anyone that has all ready answered some of my previous questions about fishing (such as Grand master basser) all ready knows I have yet to cast a line (even though strangely enough I know alot about tackle fishing positions techniques ETC) I know nothing of setting up a line or the bait

I recently got a telescopic fishing set by Protocol (not really a fishing brand but everything looks pretty good) I was planning to use to go and fish for some bass. it came with 2 curly tail worm lures (soft baits) several barbed hooks a couple of red/white floats a handy plier tool ( Which is I believe is for removing the barbed hooks and has several over tools built in like a knife and 2 inch ruler) and of course a flexible and sensitive the rod measures 54" anyway I've set up the reel to the rod and am going to set up the line (the instructions aren't very through but I think I should be able handle it)

I'm guessing that I have to knot tie the hook to the line (which by the way I'm not sure what line strength it is) what line strength would a reel that says Line capacity #1-4 and gear ratio 170 the came wound with the reel and I'm going to set up the line to the rod anyway I cant figure out the capacity with that info anyway the things I need to know are

1 How to set up the hook and float

2 how to set up the lure (there doesn't seem to be a preset hole to put the hook through) do I have to puncture it myself? if so where in the lure would I have to. to be able to properly set it up

The manual doesn't seem to show how to do so... so it would be a good help here's the info on the back of the box if its any help And I quote

Protocols clever telescopic fishing set is the ultimate in fishing versatility. so compact it fits anywhere.and when extended , its a fantastic fully functional 5" rod with the flexibility and sensitivity anglers need. set comes complete with rod, pre spooled spinning reel, hooks, sinkers, accessories, stainless steel 14 function multi tool and zippered nylon carry case, get ready for big fish and big fun!

Graphite Body and spool , multi-disc drag system , Selective silent anti reverse , Precision die case gears , internal bail trip system , 3,4,1 gear ratio

Also I don't see a drag changer so where exactly would it be? all I see is a small flip switch on the bottom that looks like something you find on a flashlight and all I see it doing is when Its back it lets the crank come off the reel so you can disassemble it and when its forward you can reel in and out (like its supposed to) so how would I change the drag or is that it and I did not assemble it correctly

Thanks
I found a fishing set of another brand that looks EXACTLY the same as mine (just a different brand and color) it even has the exact same contents

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mammoth-Telescopic-Fishing-Set-Rod-Reel-Tackle-/230638411698?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b31edfb2

Grand master basser..

Accused? not at all I was just quoting that you answered an earlier question of mine (fishing gear cost). if you could read the question above and see what you can answer I would appriciate it.. Finnally got a rod and reel and I'm not exacty sure where to start (details above)

Thanks!

 ANSWER:
There's a lot of info to cover, so I'll mostly focus on your main two questions.

To tie the line onto a hook (or lure), you'll probably want to use an improved cinch knot. This is the basic and most commonly used fisherman's knot. I'll try to describe it, but you should really search for images or videos. Anyway, here goes. First, run a few inches of line through the eye of the hook or lure you're going to use. Twist the lure a good six or seven times to put twists in the line. When you do this, it will make a teardrop-shaped loop at the bottom of the twists, which goes through the eye of the hook. Take the free end of the line and run it through that teardrop-shaped loop, but don't pull it tight! Running it through the teardrop will make a second loop, and you need to then pull the free end of the line through that loop. Now you can pull on the end of the line to tighten everything up. Wet the knot with a bit of saliva, and cinch up the coils made from the knot so they're right against the eye of the hook. Once everything is as tight as it will get, trim the excess off of the free end, leaving about 1/4".

The float/bobber is used by attaching it to your line, so that your bait will be suspended at a desired depth. Bobbers such as yours clip onto the fishing line, and cinch themselves in place. To install a bobber, first press down on the center of the red plunger. You'll see a wire hook protrude from the bottom of the bobber. Clip the hook onto the line at the desired location (two feet from the bait is a good start), and release the plunger. Next, put your finger over the bottom of the bobber, and press the *outside rim* of the plunger. A hook at the top of the bobber will be exposed. Clip this hook on the line just above the first hook, and release the plunger. Pull the line to remove any slack between the two hooks.

All lures and hooks should have an eye through which to thread your line. Painted jig heads (lead balls with a hook protruding from them) often have this eye obscured by paint. In this case, it may be necessary to chip the paint off or pierce a hole through it so that line can be threaded. There are tools made especially for this purpose, but a needle, your multitool, or even another hook can usually suffice. I'd avoid using another hook for fear of dulling it.

In regard to setting the drag, there will be a dial on the end of the spool (the part that faces the tip of the rod). Usually, this dial comprises the entire face of the spool, and has a protruding grip which divides it evenly into two halves. To tighten the drag to its maximum, turn the dial clockwise as far as it will go. Then, the drag may be adjusted to a more reasonable setting by pulling gently on the line (as a fish would) and turning the dial counter-clockwise until line can be pulled off of the spool. I recommend setting the drag at roughly two pounds for the line and tackle you're using.

The "flashlight switch" on the reel is the "selective silent anti-reverse" touted by the description. In one position it will allow line to freely come off of the spool (as you've discovered), and in the other, the anti-reverse is engaged, and to pull line off the spool, the drag must be overcome. Keep the anti-reverse turned on for all normal fishing situations.

"Line capacity 1-4#" means that the reel is designed for line between 1 and 4 pounds test strength. Likely, it came pre-spooled with 4-pound line, which is just right for your purposes. Be aware that pre-spooled line is almost always garbage, so don't get frustrated if the reel is continually tangling. Replacing the line with better store-bought line will help a lot, but there's no harm in trying the original line out first.

"3,4,1 gear ratio" is probably meant to say 3.4:1 gear ratio, which means that for every complete rotation of the handle, the spool rotates 3.4 times. This isn't terrifically important, just understand that a higher gear ratio will retrieve line more quickly than a low one if cranked at the same rate. You can verify the gear ratio by turning the handle in a complete rotation and counting the spool revolutions.

As another user suggested, I would highly recommend that you start with some sort of natural bait rigged on a barbed hook. Worms are commonly used, minnows work well, and various bits of bread, bacon, cheese, etc. work well for a variety of panfish. These all work well with a bobber, or without.

 QUESTION:
What exactly is 'big game' fishing, and what tackle is used?
I presume that big game fishing is as it's name implies- hunting the aquatic equivalents of lions, leopards and rhinos!

If this is true, does this mean that big game fishing is almost always done from a boat, and never from the shore or even inland fresh waters?

What is used in the way of tackle (rods, reels, hooks etc) and tactics? Thanks!

 ANSWER:
Big Game, offshore fishing, Regulation tackle. This style of fishing is done on a boat with a fishing chair on the stern in which the angler is belted, strapped down into a chair and Rod. Anglers are out to catch Black Marlins(Billfish). Of course one can also say shark, tuna fishing is Big Game if the range is 800-1000-lbs and up. 1000-lb + Black Marlin in Cairns Australia is Big Game. Rod's used cost upward of 00-00 each and are custom made for trolling with bent storable butts and roller guides capable of handling wire line. The choice roller guides years ago was the Fin-nor and now Aftco, also Fin-nor tycoon Rods the very best at one time . Fin-nor Reels 15/0 and earlier George Stevens 16/0 and many other makers, for now the Duel is an excellent Big Game Reel. Big Game is trolled, one Rod is the teaser and the other holds a dead fish(bait) whichever it might be, big enough to excite a 1000-lb + catch. Wire line is still in use today and so is dacron.
Equipment for Black Marlin will run you into the thousands with 30 outfits for each boat(vessel) if not more.
These Rods are made of hollow fiberglass blanks and many still use solid glass blanks. Graphite Rods are also made in the unlimited class but don't take the punishment of glass. Line test which is mostly used is 80-lb test to catch 1000-lb and up, you really don't need anything over that. Hooks range all the way to 16/0, the leader can either be wire, strand wire or mono, etc., up to 900-lbs.
Outriggers are used as well for Big Game fishing to extend the bait, teaser as far away to the side of your boat(vessel).

Aside from Fishing Rods, leaders, kite Rod, gaff, etc., I get other Big Game equipment from either Capt Harry fishing supply or Melton tackle, which in my opinion are an excellent source for the east coast.

We can also in an attempt add Stand-up fishing to Big Game. In the case of Stand-up no chair is used and the Rod is made to suit the angler in reeling in a 800-lb Tuna in a short period of time 20-30 minutes without breaking back work.

Sailfish is not considered Big Game fishing. In the Keys we catch Sailfish with 12- 20-lb Spinning or Casting Tackle.

I must add that just about everyone else here, has given an excellent answer and deserves a thumbs up.

If you've further questions on Big Game fishing just email me@muneymouse@yahoo.com
I've some movies which I transferred years ago to vhs, fishing Cairns Australia for Black Marlin.

 QUESTION:
How to fish for carp in a big lake?
It's a 590 acre lake in IL (Busse Lake).I only have my tackle that I use for bass fishing.I'm just looking to find where the carp hang out in a lake this size. What should I be looking for?

 ANSWER:
They are in the deep part of the lake around sunken trees and large sunken rocks. Find a good place to bank fish where no one else is fishing and set-up your rods there. Just use some of your heavier bass rods and reels for carp. Use a size 2 bait holder hook. Rigging your line for carp is all in preference. I just crimp on a big split shot to put my bait on the bottom. I use dough ball. It is made out of peanut butter, maple syrup, bread, and cinnamon. Works pretty good. I recommend you trying it. If you don't want to make dough ball you can use bread. It works good too.

To give yourself a chance at any sport you must have the right equipment. Fishing is no different. Most people assume all you need to fish is a rod, line, reels and some bait. Oh, that it were that simple. Your tackle box holds your "bag of tricks" for fishing. And a well prepared tackle box can make all the difference during a fishing adventure.

If you have just started fishing, your tackle box will look very different from the tackle box of an experienced angler - probably a lot more empty space. However, it takes years of experimentation before you put together the perfect tackle box. As long as you have a basic kit in your tackle box, you can build on it.

First, you need the actual box. The best kind is one made of hard plastic. Do not pick a box that is too heavy though, as this will only cause you problems hauling it around during your trip. It is important that the box has a good latch to keep your fishing resources from falling out at the most inopportune times.

The next items to purchase include a large supply of hooks of various sizes, fishing line, and weights. Make it a point to get the correct line for the type of fishing you intend to do. Also make sure you pack a spare reel - you may need it.

Weights are needed to sink your bait to the bottom of the water. Weights can be made from different metals, but never buy lead weights. These are highly toxic and can kill fish and other wildlife.

You also need a variety of lures. Lures come in many appealing shapes, sizes, and colors. Different fish are attracted to different lures. You will get to know through trial-and-error which are best for which types of fish. Some fishermen prefer to make their own lures. This may be an approach that interests you as well.

Additional fishing accessories can also be useful, but don’t buy something for the novelty value. Make sure you can get usability value from it. You can find out all the information you need about various fishing equipment from a fishing shop.

Also remember to take a map with you so you can either locate a preferred fishing spot or find a new one. It is also beneficial to take simple first aid supplies in a small compartment in your tackle box. Nothing too fancy is needed if you are just starting out; just a few band aids and some disinfectant. However keep the latter away from your bait!

By following these basic tips, you will be well on your way to creating a first class fishing tackle box.

Are you interested in purchasing Texasa land? If so, there are many different types of properties available. They range from large acreage hunting land, home sites, waterfront property, recreational property, fishing property, camping property, or maybe you are looking for property to build and retire on. Once upon a time, the only way to look for such properties was to go through a licensed realtor. Today, there are many ways to go about looking for affordable property.

Realtors can still help you find property at a price you can afford and information regarding land for sale in Texas. Many sellers still prefer to list their properties in this manner. In recent years there has been a shift towards selling property without the help of a realtor. The main reason people attempt to sell without a realtor is because they feel they can save money by not paying a commission to a realtor. I don’t want to say this never happens because it does; however, it can be very hard to get the exposure for your listings for land for sale in Texas like a realtor can.

That’s the way it has been for many years, however thanks to the world wide web this has changed. Many websites, such as Texas Landsource exists to help those who have property for sale in Texas to advertise. A specific rate is charged for services rendered and you can post pictures of the property as well as information about the property. Besides a great title and description, be sure to include contact information and the asking price in case someone is looking at the websites and needs more information.

These websites are not just for those trying to sell their properties personally, but many realtors like to use these sites so they can get more prospective buyers looking at the Texas properties for sale. The more realtors that post on this website, the more time you can save as a buyer in searching for the properties you would like to visit. Your goal needs to be to get as many people as possible to see each property which increases the potential of selling the property quickly and at the asking price and not having to settle for less.

The internet has changed the way people shop for everything including land for sale in Texas. With everyone being in a rush these days, it is great to sit down at night and look at one website and see combined listings of many realtors. The buyer can narrow down his/her properties interested in and save a lot of time. This makes so much sense that you can have done a little homework before contacting a realtor. With maps and information in hand you can make one trip to a Realtor and get all your viewing done at once.

Texas Landsource has been using the Internet to help buyers and sellers who have property for sale In Texas. You can browse hundreds of land and home listings that have pictures and full descriptions of the property. All listings include information regarding who to contact if interested.

How do I find where the fish are in my local Lakes?
I live in Louisiana and i go to poverty point to fish a lot and I never end up catching anything when other people catch a lot. I have fished for a long time but I have only been fishing at poverty for 2weeks. Is there a map I can use to find out where the fish are?

 ANSWER:
Good luck with that man. It`s called SPOT BURNING. When a fisherman gives up a location not known by many people know about it is looked down upon.

If i posted online a spot I found, after weeks maybe months of looking for the fish, there would be dozens of guys there and then no room or fish left for me to catch. So fisherman who work hard to find spots that hold fish tend to keep it to themselves or within their tight knit group. Why would I give up a spot that took me weeks or months of work to just tell you where it is and you didnt have to do any work? You`re looking to go catching, not fishing. part of fishing is finding the fish. I`m sure fi you ask the guy in the bait and tackle shop he can point you to a general location, like your pverty point. Ask him to tell you about spot burning.

You make it sound like other people are fishing at this location and they are catching fish, while you are not. MAybe you should talk to them....you`re probably doing something wrong.

 QUESTION:
Im starting to get worried now...[another dead animals question]?
Okay I've read ALOT of news lately. I've also read alot on Y!answers about the subject and I came across something that makes sense and answers many of the main questions... Somebody wrote this as a reply to a question and this person types strangly so I fixed up most of the grammar errors I made sense of... here:

Well I have a theory on what might be going on. Its just one species of bird but its a lot of them. So I did a little study onto where these events are happening. Dieing birds and fish. Just got word there is another large bird kill in Louisiana today.. Just south of the other two events.. What do I think is going on? Well lets take a look at the magnetic field of our planet. Birds by nature use the magnetic field to navigate. If there is a disruption of the field it can cause birds to temperately lose their sense of direction in this case it looks like this species of bird could have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Its the same as if your flying a plane and it suddenly lost all of its instrumentation and the windows were dark how can you tell which way your pointed? For example, the blunt forced trauma all the birds experienced in all the autopsy. Normally birds fly north south east and west..But if there is a disruption in the magnetic field the ground can appear to look like its either north south east or west and they can very well fly right into it! Could explain the blunt force trauma? Same with a blind aircraft if you cant see how will you know where your pointed you could fly right into the ground! This is just a theory of mine but this can also apply to fish as well they also use magnetic fields to navigate. Explains why whales beach themselves from time to time. But with all of this happening all at once its kind of bothers me. It could be the sign of a magnetic pole reversal and they start out like sun spots and appear at random in this case the lower mid west. Will there be more? OH I BET THERE WILL! Keep watching the news! Magnetic fields shift at will and you can never really tell where the next one will appear. The next one could appear in the upper mid west or even in another country. But over all if this is whats going on its not a good sign... If the poles do a complete shift it can leave the world as we know it to become venerable to cosmic radiation solar winds even microwaves and it can literally cook the surface of the planet untill the poles stabilize. This could be another theory of why these birds have blunt force trauma to there internal organs. Microwaves cook from the inside out. And it wouldn't take a long period of time for a field like that to have a dramatic effect on birds while they're in flight. It could cause their internal organs to swell and burst then they just fall out of the sky. It's creepy too because its happening... Keep and eye on the news sure enough bet another one will happen.

Okay and check out these links:
this one is from NASA saying that the poles and magnetic fields really are shifting in 2011/2012.

What do you think about all I've shown you?
I know it's creeping me out.

 ANSWER:
It's not a sign of anything except dying fish, animals and birds, which happens all the time.
http://www.nwhc.usgs.gov/mortality_events/ongoing.jsp
Look at the link. It contains a list of mass deaths of creatures in the USA and they happen about once every week. Extend that to the whole world and you will get several such events per day. It's common.
It's just the latest news media fad. For a few days, you'll hear about every dead sparrow. Then they'll lose interest and get back to reporting some real news.
If I read about the Earth's magnetic field behaving strangely on spaceweather.com or another scientific site, I shall suspect something unusual going on. Until then...
By the way. NASA say that the Sun's magnetic field will flip in 2013, not the Earth's. This happens every 11 years.

I personally agree with you. I believe the poles are and will reverse. Animals all over are being effected by the changing world. Polar ice caps melting. What about the honey bee's mysterious decline? Birds falling dead. Not sure if you read about the bats suddenly all dying? People will start to believe soon enough, if they don't already.

Pacific Halibut

Pacific halibut are the largest flatfish in the ocean. They can weigh up to 500 -700 pounds and can grow up to 9 feet long. They are among the most popular North American fish. Pacific halibut are common along the Northwest coast of the the USA and Canada. Halibut prefer rocky bottoms where they ambush food. Their diet consists of cod, pollock, herring, octopus, crabs, shrimp and other prey.

Pacific halibut is popular among seafood lovers and is low in saturated fat and sodium, as well as a source of vitamins B6, B12, magnesium and potassium. The meat is white, mild and flakey. Its thickness lends itself to a variety of recipes including grilling, baking and broiling.

Sole

The Pacific Northwest is home to 2 species of sole. Sole are smaller flatfish that are related to halibut. Dover sole and English sole are bottom dwellers that feed on small fish, amphipods, molluscs, crustaceans and other ocean life.

In addition to being sought after by recreational anglers, the fish are caught commercially by trawling and marketed as filet of sole. Both species make up a large portion of the commercial flatfish harvest in the Pacific Northwest.

Lingcod

Lingcod have a large head, large mouth, and large teeth. The fish have a long, elongate body which narrows towards the tail, the back having one long dorsal fin. Lingcod are usually dark gray, brown or a greenish color on the back with mottling or spotting along the back. Lingcod can reach up to 5 feet in length.

Lingcod is an important commercial catch in Washington, Oregon, California and Alaska. The fish are also sought after by recreational anglers because of its aggressive behavior, size and excellent table value.

Pacific Cod

Pacific cod are similar to Atlantic cod although generally smaller. Pacific cod are an important commercial food species. Local names include gray cod, gray wolf or grayfish. Pacific cod are found in the Bering Strait, along the Aleutian Islands and along Washington, Oregon and part of California.

Black Cod

Black cod is another Pacific fish. Also known as sable fish, these distinctive fish have dark skin and pearly white flesh. Seafood lovers describe the fish as having a smooth texture and rich taste, due to its high oil content. The fish is low in calories and a source of protein and other nutrients. Black Cod can contain up to 50% more Omega-3 Oil than salmon.

Alaska Pollock

Alaska pollock can grow to more than 20 pounds, although most of the fish landed in the commercial fishery weigh less than three pounds. Alaska pollock are caught in huge numbers by factory ships, with Alaska pollock making up roughly 40% of the U.S. total commercial catch. Also known as Pacific pollock, the fish are members of the cod family.

Pollock has lean, white flesh that becomes opaque when cooked. Most of the commercial harvest goes into fish sticks, fish portions for fish sandwiches and for Surimi products.

All of these fish make delicious seafood dishes. The Pacific fish tend to have mild white meat that is suitable for baking, broiling, grilling or in other dishes.

There are all different kinds of fishermen throughout the world. Some have been reeling in the "big one" for decades, whereas others can only dream of the day when the "big one" bites. Many fishermen like freshwater lakes, some like rivers or streams, and then there are those who prefer the ocean. Regardless of age, experience, or preference, there is one must: the right equipment and an organized tackle box.

Most fishermen have accumulated various lures, tackle, rods, and reels over the years. They have developed favorites, and they certainly have discovered which equipment works best in which conditions. Being prepared with the right equipment to suit the fishing conditions will make or break a fishing trip. One way to prepare yourself as a fisherman is to have an organized tackle box.

Organizing all of your gear, especially what is located in your tackle box, has many advantages. Some of these include:

1. Quick lure exchange. Whether you are in the middle of a tournament or just enjoying a Saturday afternoon, no one likes wasting time changing their lures. With a tackle box that is organized you are bound to spend more time with your line in the water.

2. Many fishermen don't fish in the same fishing spot every time they go out. In fact, some may fish in the ocean one day and on the lake the next. If your gear is organized according to what conditions you will be fishing in, you will most likely have a more successful trip. Better yet, organize two different tackle boxes; one for freshwater fishing and the other for saltwater fishing.

3. No tangled lures! That is the worst; you get out onto the water and are all set to go, only to find that all of your lures are tangled into a huge mess. You end up spending half of your time fixing the jumbled mess. By using a tackle box that is designed to separate lures and keep them from tangling with other lures you are going to save yourself a lot of time.

If you haven't yet bought a tackle box, or are looking into an upgrade for better organizational benefits, consider these aspects before buying:

1. Durability. You definitely don't want your nicely organized tackle box falling apart on you. Pick a strong plastic or a metal that won't rust. Fishing is not for pansies, your tackle box shouldn't be built like one either.

2. Is it waterproof and watertight? Most tackle boxes are made of material that is waterproof, but can water still creep inside through the cracks? This could form mold on your expensive equipment if there is not adequate ventilation. Some boxes come with removable parts to air out wet lures and remove any water that snuck in.

3. The size and function of your tackle box should largely depend on your intended use. Tournament fishermen need to have quick access to different lures and a fairly light box. The same goes for shore fishermen; they have to carry their tackle box to the shore, so it would make sense to consider weight when purchasing a new tackle box. On the other hand, many fishermen use the same boat and prefer to store their tackle box on board. In this case, they can afford to have a bit more weight in exchange for extra storage or waterproofing features.

4. It is always nice to have a little extra space for gear other than lures, weights, etc. A compartment for a pair of pliers (with quick access) is a plus. Some tackle boxes even come with a spot for a flashlight; always handy when fishing at dawn or dusk.

There are many things to think about and prepare before any fishing trip. An organized tackle box will ensure arriving on the water with the right equipment every time!

 QUESTION:
how far up a tidal river can i fish with shore rods and tackle for sea fish?
i've been fishing a lake that has a tidal river (the stour, kent) one mile from where the river meets the sea. can i pop over and fish for the bass i've heard swim up?

 ANSWER:
As soon as you fish the lake you will come under the coarse fishing rules and you will need a rod licence for a start. The lake may be pivately owned and there could be other fees to pay. Why not fish the estuary of the river where the Bass are coming in, Bass always go to freshwater outlets looking for food that may wash down.... Good luck.

 QUESTION:
What tackle do I need for sea fishing?
I am going sea fishing just along the coast near Brighton UK.
I have a telescopic sea rod and a large fixed spool reel.
What weight line do I need and also what weights and size hooks?
How do I set them up?
I am told I need a length of heavy line as a shock leader. how heavy and how long?
I go coarse fishing but this is the first time I have been sea fishing

 ANSWER:
Ok you say near Brighton , so somewhere between Hastings and Worthing . Pick somewhere that has a pier Newhaven , Shoreham , Worthing.
Get yourself a bulk spool of mono ( braid is way to expensive when you are starting out ) 15lb is plenty , as for weights 6oz is plenty along that part of the coast at this time of year . Shock leader keep it on the safe side 10lb of breaking strain for every 1oz of casting weight , so with a 6oz weight you want 60lb.
Rigs , when you go into the tackle shop to get your other bits buy some ready made rigs , they arn't that dear and you will be able to see how they are made .
A good source of information is Sea Angler magazine , it gives reports from around the coast and also shows how to set up a lot of rigs.

 QUESTION:
Which sea fishing tackle is for me?
I used to go fishing a little bit when iwas small but gave up. I recently went on a chartered boat trip as a bit of a jolly and loved it and would like to start again. I would be pretty much exclusively shore and pier fishing in the Plymouth area. I need some advice on what type and length of rod would be best and also whether a fixed spool reel or a multiplier would be best for me. Also any other info/help greatly appreciated

 ANSWER:
I would start with a rod of about 10-12 feet and a fixed spool reel. I have always liked Daiwa reels and Century or Conoflex rods. I would not get a multiplier until you are a bit more experienced as they can be quite hard to use. Depending on what the tide is like in your area, whether it is always quite a strong tide or not, you would need weights between 4-6oz. I use 20lb breaking strain line and a shock leader of 50lb breaking strain. I would also go to you local library and get a book on sea fishing knots as a good knot can make all the difference between keeping or losing your tackle. Hope that this all helps you and that you enjoy your fishing. Tight lines.lol

 QUESTION:
Does anybody use heavy course tackle when sea fishing?
When i'm sea fishing i can't seem to cast my beechcaster very far (i'm sure it's just my technique). I'm thinking of taking my carp gear maybe a 2.75lb test rod or a 4lb spod rod, hoping that the extra flex in the rod will give me that extra distance. Is there any other pros or cons anyone has experienced?

 ANSWER:
yeah.i have and still do ;but realise ;that sea tackle is designed specifically for sea fishing .so it has to be more robust than coarse tackle.beach casting is a real strain on a coarse rod .even a good carp rod; so i suggest you keep at it with your sea tackle ;practice at beach casting i am sure you wiil get better at it. ps ive knackered two coarse rods sea fishing over past few years .so take my advice .use the right tools for the right job ..tight lines.

 QUESTION:
what do i need to go sea fishing?
what do i need to go sea fishing? i already have bought a sea fishing rod and reel what tackle and bait would i be needing?
i am going fishing on the harbour wall and beach at bridlington
of the harbour wall!

 ANSWER:
You need heavier line than in freshwater. Wire leaders and stronger hooks are a good idea. Lures/baits depend on the fish species. If I could only have 2 lures, they would be Rapala plugs and large jigging spoons. For live bait, I recommend eels and shrimp.
