     Fishing for carp can really be fun, use a medium heavy rod and reel about 20 pound line, put a 1 once sinker about a foot from your hook, use a small sharp hook, good baits are nitecrawlers, dough balls mixed with strawberry kool aide, fish right on the bottom of your river or lake.

   I'm looking for things that are not too exotic and are household items.

     I heard that sourdough bread dough (made into balls and not baked) works really well for them.

   • ANSWER:
     It's pretty easy and a lot of fun. Get two cans of kernal corn. Use the first can to chum - just open it up and throw the corn in the water. Use a small snell hook (small enough a carp can suck it into its mouth) and put a couple of kernals of corn on the hook and cast out where you chummed the corn. You'll catch carp.

     Carp fight hard, so be ready for a strike.

     Boilies.

     Boilies are boiled paste fishing baits, usually combinations of fishmeals, milk proteins, bird foods, semolina and soya flour, which are mixed with eggs as a binding agent and then boiled to form hardish round baits which will last in the water. Additional flavourings and attractors are also usually included in the mix. The round shape allows the baits to be catapulted accurately when fishing at range

   What are Some Good Live Baits to use for fishing?
   I know worms are good but I don't always catch the fish that I want.

   What are some good baits for catching catfish, big mout bass and carp?.

   Bait for carp is really the most important to me, I have caught only one carp through my whole life )= and that was on a worm. Any suggestions that would really get them to bite?

   • ANSWER:
     Catfish ~ Worms, chicken liver, dough baits, corn, hot dogs, some sort of chicken parts, dip bait, minnows, crayfish.

     Carp ~ Corn, bread, dough bait.

     Bass ~ Worms, crayfish, minnows.

     For the catfish and carp, have two rods out, one baited up with the white part of bread, the other with chicken liver. Fish on the bottom. I would prefer a 6 1/2 ft. Medium-Heavy Action Rod, and a spinning reel filled with 15 lb. mono, both for catfish and carp.

     For the bass, i would prefer a 6 1/2 ft. medium action rod, casting reel, and a 6" plastic worm Texas rigged. But for live bait i would use a crayfish or minnow.
